 Hazrat Sheesh (PBUH) – Full Biography

Introduction

• Name: Sheesh (AS)

• Arabic: شيث عليه السلام

• Pronunciation: Sheesh or Sheesh

• Meaning: Gift from Allah

• Father: Hazrat Adam (AS)

• Mother: Hazrat Hawa (AS)

• Birth: After the death of Abel

Birth and Gift from Allah

• One of the first sons of Hazrat Adam (AS) was killed by Qabil. Then Allah bestowed Sheesh (AS) on the womb of Hawa (AS).

• Adam (AS) understood that Sheesh had been sent by Allah for a special purpose.

Receiving Prophethood

• Before his death, Adam (AS) entrusted Sheesh (AS) with the responsibility of Caliphate and Prophethood by the command of Allah.

• Ibn Kathir (RA) mentioned: Adam (AS) appointed Shish as his successor and gave him special books and knowledge.

Death and Burial

• Sheesh (AS) lived for more than 900 years.

• When he died, he was buried on the top of a mountain.

• History has it that his books were preserved in the ark of Noah (AS).
